Be a Volunteer
We invite individuals, couples, families, students, researchers, and groups (churches, colleges, and student associations) for our Kenya voluntary orphanage work.

Our orphanage volunteer programs are flexible and volunteers can arrive and depart on any day all year round.

Kenya Volunteer Safaris & Kenya Volunteer Expeditions
We organize safaris and expeditions for all our volunteers in Kenya. Payment for this is separate. Volunteers typically join up together for a 1 - 7 days safari on a discount package while volunteering in Kenya through Connect the World tours and travel.

Connect the World Tours donates 10% of its revenues to Njaaga Child Hope Home

Typical Orphanage Volunteering Work in Kenya

Working abroad in orphanages is not difficult. Volunteer orphanage work typically involves:

- Teaching the school going children and helping them to do their homework
after school Help in keeping the children busy and organizing educational
and recreational activities for them (games, art, music, crafts etc.)
-  Helping to keep the children’s home clean.
-  Helping with and monitoring the cleanliness of the children.
-  Basic chores such as cooking, washing of dishes, laundry, building structures
-  Helping the children to learn common courtesies, moral education etc.
-  Making suggestions to the home manager for improvement.

The children’s home projects make for perfect volunteering work for college students and youth volunteering.

By volunteering at an orphanage in Kenya, you have the unique opportunity to make a real contribution to the community, while experiencing the rich Kenyan culture and different aspects of life in Kenya.

The Founders
Mr and Mrs James and Lucy Njaaga, founded the Child Hope Center due to the many cases of innocent children being left with no one to fully take care of them after their parents died: "we always wanted to give them a stable foundation for the future and a place they can call home".

Recruitments of Orphans
The need for the recruitment of the orphans has increased even more. There are those amongst us that still take HIV/Aids and death as a taboo. They do not want to come forward and talk about it. To some extent, it is traumatizing especially where we have "closed the door"
